Being a private pilot looking towards an IR rating in the distant future I started building my PC-ATD to train IFR real procedures. My long term plan is to take my IR rating in a Da-40 G1000.
This cockpit will not be as complete as the F-16 cockpit. I wanted to have precise flight controls and a generic G1000 panel.
Software wise my choice turned to X-plane and it’s rendition of the G1000 avionics for now. I ventured into other software (FS2020 included or the gamin G1000 simulator) but I found X-plane to be the best compromise for now.
I am only at the beginning of this project but I am looking forward to its completion:
